Yesterday I took down my exhibition at Stantonbury Gallery. For a whoel month, 10 of my favourite black and white images were the focus of passers by, and theatre attendees, allowing me the opportunity to essentially advertise. The difference here, I was "An Artist".
It all kicked off with an amazong private viewing, where all my friends and family joined me to see everything together for the first time. My Grandparents helped me get the food set out on the tables, and slowly but surely, the place filled with my familier faces, and it was such a magical night. My Softball teammates turned up in abundance, I had my peers from college, clients turned friends from years gone by bought their parents along and got to see their face on the wall, and lots of family and friends visited too. It was such a proud moment for me. Imposter Syndrome is always going to be there, but to know that all the people closest to me really believe I can do well is something I will hold onto.

After the opening night and private viewing, it wasn't often that people could visit, as the theatre had to have a performance on, but there were a few nights open to the public. I went along when I could to greet the public and speak about my work. It was lovely to recieve so many compliments, but to learn about them too, and what brought them to the theatre that night, or what drew them to my work in the gallery. I met teachers from the school, who I spoke with about my time at the school, and I met a lovely midwife who asked for some business card to share with new parents as she loved my work so much.
I have had messages from people who I didn't expect to be able to attend sending well wishes and congratulations, and all in all I had a really positive experience from this. Of course I had days where I felt it was all for nothing, and didn't manage to look further than my own nose at the possibilities that could come from this.
Thankfully I have had a really positive week with old, new, and fitire clients, and I am so excited to see what the rest of 2025 holds. I have a few weddinsg booked, my first newborn shoot with multiples, and my sister has booked another maternity shoot to celebrate her second pregnancy. Thank you to everybody who is liking and sharing my posts, and supporting me in every area of this little business venture. I can;t wait to see it grow even more.
